It is one of the oldest inns in East Anglia and is positioned in the town centre of historic Colchester, (Britain's first Roman capital). The hotel has a wealth of timber beams and the original wattle and daub walls are still visible in some areas of the hotel through specially designed glass panels. The bedrooms are all individually furnished with antiques and have original Tudor features. Colchester is Britain's oldest recorded town and was it's first Roman capital.
